10 Life-changing BIBLE VERSES ABOUT BEAUTY AND SELF WORTH

We live in a world where beauty and self-worth are defined by looks, height, size,  shape, and fame.

Little or no attention is ever given to the character of the individuals.

Smart people are often labeled as dorks, nerds, weirdos, and so on.

Your beauty and self-worth should not be determined by people’s poor opinions of you.

Our bathroom mirror only captures the physical aspect of us but never captures our worth and the treasures hidden inside of us.

Before our parents ever met each other, we were already loved, called, and chosen by God the creator

If the reason for your sadness and lack of authenticity is because of a sneaky remark someone made about you when you made a mistake,

Sorry! but people are entitled to their own opinions.  Do I need to remind you that you’re a human being, a work in progress?

We all make mistakes but God doesn’t judge the way man judges.

There will be times you might know better but don’t do better. My dear! It happens to everyone but God still loves you and me.

You’re worth more than diamonds despite your flaws. Get up and reclaim your self-worth.

What Does God Say About Beauty

God’s standard for beauty is first accepting that how we look is by His design.

Our height, shape, speech, and facials are perfectly crafted for the purpose you were created to fulfill.

Yes, we are perfect just the way we are. There are times that I would say to myself that if I was taller it wouldn’t have made sense. I’m happy with who I am and the woman I am becoming.

You are a unique individual. Seeking to look like someone else is choosing to be a duplicate and not an original.

God never makes duplicates but originals.

Psalm 139:14 NASB

I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:14

If you do not have a relationship with God, it will be difficult for you to accept God’s view of beauty.

How to Build A Relationship with God

You would always seek the affirmation of other people and that’s dangerous.

People won’t always be in the mood to tell you nice things. But the reassuring word of God remains constant.

what bible verse says you are beautiful

Psalm 50:1-2 NIV says “The Mighty One, God, the Lord,
    speaks and summons the earth
from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
 From Zion, perfect in beauty,
    God shines forth.”

This verse describes God’s majesty and how God is perfect in beauty. This tells us that anything that comes from God is perfect in beauty.

I don’t know about anyone else but one thing I’m sure of is that my beauty doesn’t come when I have my makeup on or when someone gives me a compliment. Rather my beauty comes from what the scriptures say about true beauty

The book of Proverbs 31 vs 30 ESV also says, “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

Don’t roll your eyes!🙄 I guess you’re thinking, yeah we go again with the Proverbs 31 woman urgh! Personally, I have seen quite a lot of charming people who were deceptive.

Dressing up and looking good is great but who are you when all the makeup and designer clothes are gone. Do you still like YOU?

So you better believe what the scripture says about true beauty. Just as a good name cannot be bought, true beauty cannot be bought as well.

What count is what he says about you in the Holy Bible in Psalm 139 vs 14, until we start believing those words we will still remain bound to our past.

Bible verses about Beauty

These are evergreen scriptures about true beauty that will help you see yourself the way God sees you.

Ephesians 2:10AMPC

Ephesians 2:10 AMPC

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

It is a good thing to look incredible but that shouldn’t cost you your joy.

Don’t depend on things like fancy hairdos or gold jewelry or expensive clothes to make you look or feel beautiful.

They are not bad if you can afford them but it becomes toxic when your identity or joy is dependent on these material things.

Another person’s label on your back should not hurt your self-esteem. Your focus should be on God and who He has called you to be.

1 Peter 3:3-4 CEV

1 Peter 3:3-4 CEV

Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special.

When you go in search of a job, the employer isn’t just fascinated by your skill or beauty he/she is interested in your humility and loyalty as well.

Don’t be overly concerned about what you don’t have for now.

Your priority should be on becoming the best version of yourself. Set your priority straight and every other thing will follow in due time.

Proverbs 31:30 ISV.

Charm is deceitful and beauty fades, but a woman who fears the LORD will be praised.

Proverbs 31:30 ISV.

People won’t thank you or remember you for your beauty but for the value you brought into their lives.

The beauty queens aren’t just remembered for their looks but what makes them memorable is the number of lives they have touched positively.

This also includes their commitment to helping humanity. What would you be remembered for?

1 Samuel 16:7

“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’”

1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

If you choose your friends just for their looks then you’ll be disappointed at how looks can be deceiving, because good looks without Christ don’t equal a good heart.

This is not to beauty shame anyone but we have to look beyond the physical. We need God to reveal who people are at the core. There should be a balance between your looks and your heart as well.

What is the meaning of self-worth?

Self-worth is the esteemed value we place on ourselves. It also means how I see myself despite my flaws.

Self-worth can also be summed up as acknowledging or accepting the value God places on me.

Our worth was first determined by the value God placed on us

When His son Jesus Christ died to give us our freedom on Calvary.

If you want to know the extent of your value in God’s eyes look for it in His word(Bible)

Again it begins with having a relationship with Jesus Christ to know who our heavenly Father is.

How to Build A Relationship with God

In today’s culture nobody wants to talk about Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit but He is the one with all the answers.

God is not the reason why we have problems in the world. The choices we make as humans put us in harm’s way.

The more you know Jesus it becomes easier not to be distracted by what others think of you.

Bible verses about Self Worth

What does the Bible say about self-worth? This is paramount especially if you are dealing with self-doubt or low self-esteem.

These are some Scriptures that will guide you.

Jeremiah 1:5 MSG.

“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you A prophet to the nations that’s what I had in mind for you.”

Jeremiah 1:5 MSG

God isn’t asking you to start a church but He is saying

Before you were conceived, there was a plan for your life. It is up to us to find it in Him. Your life might not seem like a fairy tale.

But be rest assured that everything is going to work together for your good.

Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT

People around you might not love you but God loves you so much

Your parents may be filled with regrets about having you. I can confidently tell you that you are not a mistake on Earth.

God can still do what He wants to do in your life without their approval. C’mon that’s why He is God

Joshua 1:9 Amplified Bible

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 Amplified Bible

Maybe you’re being bullied and you don’t know how to fix it.

God gives us the confidence and the words to withstand any situation.

Back in high school, I was bullied and joked with my classmates. But with the help and confidence of God,

I stood up for myself and everybody was shocked. She never tried such again.

Isaiah 43:1 CSB

Now, this is what the LORD says: the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.

Isaiah 43:1 CSB

Fear is false evidence appearing real. Satan uses fear to make us mute.

You don’t belong to your past mistakes. It was canceled on the cross by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

You are called a new being in Christ when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour of your life.

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

You’re not alone on this journey because God is with ‘You’.

You have been given the power to withstand shame, generational curses, pain, and much more

Don’t let people become the determining factor for your joy.

If you are struggling with unforgiveness or bitterness, these areas can put you under the control of the devil

Learn how to forgive someone who hurt you emotionally

You will lose your self-worth and the devil will continue to bring fear your way.

You would also never be able to experience the fullness of God’s love and forgiveness.

God loves you. Shalom!🤗
